Parent Recharge (online)
February 2 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am
Our social connections are even more important for all of us during this time of physical distancing. Please join us online each week to connect with other parents and grandparents. How are you doing? How are your children or grandchildren doing? What has been the most challenging aspect of your week? What have you learned and what is working for you? Have you found any online resources that have been helpful or inspiring?
We understand that your children may be in the background while we all meet together, and that is fine. You can place yourself on mute if it gets noisy at your house and listen to the conversation … then join in when you are ready.
We’ll meet online using Zoom, Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. Please see below for weekly topics and then Zoom information:
- June 4 : Talking Back to Worry. Visit Dawn Huebner’s website for a one-page tip sheet about this strategy for dealing with anxiety and how we can use it with our kids (and ourselves)
- June 11: Transition to Summer 2020. School is ending and summer plans may be on hold. This transition can be tricky! We will explore ideas and strategies to create a healthy, happy summer for you and your kids.
- June 18: Let’s Play! We can all use a little inspiration to find new ways to have fun together outside in our own backyards — and inside at our kitchen tables on the rainy days. We will discuss games, activities and projects for kids of all ages.
- June 25: Raising Resilient Kids. Listen to (or read the transcript of) this great conversation about emotional intelligence from the podcast, Unruffled. We will discuss the ways we can help our kids understand and navigate their difficult emotions.
