Adventure-themed film festival coming to Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, February 24, 2022 — Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour is making a stop in the Seacoast as a fundraiser for Greater Seacoast Community Health. Join Goodwin Community Health, Families First Health & Support Center, and Lilac City Pediatrics when the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour brings some of the world’s best mountain sport, culture, and environmental films to Portsmouth at The Music Hall on March 9 and 10.

The Portsmouth stop of the festival will take attendees on a two-night adventure where they can experience BASE jumpers finding new ways to follow their passion, a search for marine debris in Alaska, and a Sherpa who brings her child on her adventures. Each night will feature a unique lineup of films that seek to inspire through stories of adventure, discovery and exploration in the outdoors. Doors open at 6 p.m., and films begin at 7 p.m.

Event proceeds will contribute to providing local individuals and families with quality, affordable health care and family services through Goodwin Community Health in Somersworth, Families First Health & Support Center in Portsmouth, and Lilac City Pediatrics in Rochester.

“We’re excited to have the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour return to town,” said Joann Neumann, Development Director for Families First and Goodwin Community Health. “This year’s films will transport guests to new experiences throughout remote areas of the world. We are honored to host this event and appreciate that proceeds from ticket sales support our community health centers here on the Seacoast.”

The festival will screen seven films each evening — including short, five-minute films interspersed with longer, 35-minute-plus features.

The mission of Greater Seacoast Community Health is supported in part by Digital Prospectors, Novocure, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Piscataqua Savings Bank, Clark Insurance, Kennebunk Savings, Bully Boy Distillers, CGI Employee Benefits Group, D.F. Richard Energy, Granite Bay Wealth Management, NH Healthy Families, Well Sense Health Plan, Allergy Associates of New Hampshire, Bangor Savings Bank, Dodge’s Farm & Garden, and Tobey & Merrill Insurance.

Be moved. Be inspired. Don’t miss out.
